WISHH partner Castillo Hermanos Alimentos launched a new product that will lead to the procurement of even more U.S. soy. Alimentos praised its partnership with WISHH as one feature of its growth in Central America.

A longstanding partner of the ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program, Castillo Hermanos Alimentos, is expanding its use of U.S. soy into another innovative food product for consumers in Guatemala and across greater Central America. The leading food manufacturing and distribution company recently launched INCAPARINA EXPRESS, an instant food product that incorporates U.S. soy flour as a source of high-quality protein. INCAPARINA EXPRESS is just the latest highlight of a longstanding relationship between U.S. soybean farmers and WISHH’s work in Latin America.

Over the years, Alimentos has benefited from technical assistance, specialized training and capacity-building focused on educating on the use of U.S. soy in human food applications. Company representatives have traveled to the United States to visit with soybean farmers and learn firsthand about U.S. soy production. That continued engagement has helped build the company’s technical expertise and preference for using U.S. soy, contributing to increased demand for the ingredient.

The launch of INCAPARINA EXPRESS demonstrates how WISHH’s long-term approach to building relationships, providing technical support, and connecting international companies with U.S. soy can lead to sustained commercial demand and new food applications. Paola Escobar, Head of Research and Development at Castillo Hermanos Alimentos, praised her company’s collaboration with WISHH and U.S. soybean farmers as the new product launches.

“This ongoing collaboration has helped enhance the expertise of Castillo Hermanos Alimentos’ product development team, supporting the creation of innovative products such as INCAPARINA EXPRESS,” said Escobar. “It has expanded opportunities for the use of U.S. soy in food products for consumers across Guatemala and the Central American region.”

In Latin America, WISHH educates food and beverage companies as well as future industry leaders such as university students, about the benefits of soy for its nutritional value.
