The ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program’s Asia division led a trade team of tofu, soy milk, and soy food companies from Cambodia, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka to the U.S. Identity Preserved Alliance’s Identity Preserved International Summit 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam last week. The summit convened international buyers, processors, exporters, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the growing demand for IP soybeans and their applications in food products. WISHH leveraged USDA Regional Agricultural Promotion Program and Market Access Program funds alongside support from the United Soybean Board for the conference. The summit reinforced Southeast Asia’s position as a leading growth market for food-grade soybeans and highlighted its emerging role in advancing soy-based food innovation, supporting long-term demand for U.S. soybean farmers.
WISHH in-country representatives presented the significant market opportunities for IP soybeans across the region, emphasizing the country’s growth potential across soy milk, tofu, textured soybean protein, bakery products, and nutritional foods. Participants gained valuable insights into why IP soybeans are favored for their traceability, quality, processing efficiency, and potential drive higher-value food production.
