The ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program partnered with Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) to host a U.S. Soy Trade Seminar for feed industry stakeholders in Zimbabwe on July 28th. The seminar introduced potential buyers and feed industry leaders to the value of U.S. soy, the opportunities it presents for the country’s livestock sector, and how to work with U.S. suppliers to purchase U.S. soy. WISHH’s experts led discussions on soy’s role in poultry production, procurement trends, available soy products, feed formulation, and global supply chains, and discussed how to connect with U.S. suppliers and industry partners.
WISHH’s Africa Regional Josh Neiderman led an introduction to WISHH’s work in Africa to open the seminar, which also included an overview of the current landscape in Zimbabwe by the Zimbabwe Stockfeeds Association.
The seminar represents an important first step in building WISHH’s network in Zimbabwe and expanding awareness of U.S. soy as a high-quality, reliable feed ingredient that can help Zimbabwe’s feed industry grow and meet the needs of livestock producers.
