World Initiative for Soy in Human Health Committee Chair Morey Hill participated in a panel at this year’s World Food Prize in his home state of Iowa this week. Hill joined the discussion to share WISHH’s role in developing trade relations for U.S. soybean farmers the last quarter-century.
Hill emphasized that as WISHH celebrates its 25th anniversary, the program continues the legacy of its founding farmers who sought to create new markets for U.S. soy around the world. Reflecting on milestones from the last quarter century, Hill pointed to partners such as Yedent Agro in Ghana and AgriMaster in Cambodia, who have expanded into soy-based foods and feeds with WISHH’s technical assistance. He also noted how the success of WISHH’s CAST-Cambodia aquaculture project has inspired similar models in Africa.
Hill expressed optimism for the next 25 years of WISHH’s work. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of partnerships during the current landscape of trade relations. “Thanks to the continued support of USDA, the United Soybean Board, and state checkoff partners, we’re confident WISHH will keep opening new doors for U.S. soy around the globe.”
