The ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program showcased its longstanding partnership with Castillo Hermanos Alimentos at the World Food Prize in Des Moines, Iowa in a demonstration and panel. The program highlights how U.S. soy helps drive food innovation, expand access to protein, and create new market opportunities for U.S. soybean farmers.
Alimentos S.A. is a leading food manufacturing and distribution company based in Guatemala, Alimentos with a regional reach throughout Central America. It has worked with WISHH to expand the use of U.S. soy flour in innovative food products, including INCAPARINA and the recently launched INCAPARINA EXPRESS. The partnership demonstrates how U.S. soy’s high-quality protein and versatility can support product development while meeting consumer demand for nutritious foods. Alimentos purchases approximately 6,000 metric tons of U.S. soy flour annually, representing significant, sustained demand for U.S. soy.
Through technical assistance, specialized training, and connections with U.S. soybean farmers and industry experts, WISHH has helped Alimentos strengthen its expertise in soy-based food applications. The partnership has become a model for other WISHH partnerships around the world, particularly in demonstrating how soy can inspire food innovation and help companies develop new products that respond to nutrition needs and market opportunities.
WISHH continues to work with Alimentos to highlight the value and versatility of U.S. soy, showcase innovative soy-based ingredients and applications, and build connections with global food companies seeking new solutions for product development and nutrition.
WISHH’s participation in the event was supported by the United Soybean Board.
