WISHH and USSEC partners visit a tilapia farm in Batangas, Philippines. Participants from Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya are in the country to see how U.S. soy has powered the growth of the aquaculture industry.

The ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program partnered with the U.S. Soybean Export Council on a five-day aquaculture knowledge exchange in the Philippines beginning July 6th. The trip brought six participants representing the leading aquaculture farm and feed manufacturers from Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya. These industry leaders are positioned to help drive innovation, strengthen the aquaculture industry, and increase demand for high-quality aquaculture feed made with U.S. Soy

The program highlights how the Philippines has become a leading producer of farm-raised tilapia and developed a strong aquaculture value chain, highlighting the role U.S. Soy has played in the industry’s growth. The business leaders visited production and feed practices that can be adapted in their home countries.

WISHH leveraged funds from USDA’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program to bring the participants on this trade mission.
