ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program moderated a panel at the African Buyers and Sellers Conference in Casablanca, Morocco, which was held June 1st and 2nd. Hosted by the U.S Grains & BioProducts Council, the conference brings together African purchasers and U.S. suppliers of feed inputs, including U.S. soy. The conference allows buyers to speak directly with U.S. suppliers of feed ingredients including U.S. soy.

WISHH sponsored the inclusion of 16 buyers from Ghana, Senegal, and Kenya to the conference, including participants who had previously purchased U.S. soy or are interested in purchasing U.S. soy for their business operations in the future. WISHH Africa Division Director Chris Slemp moderated a panel on the commercial value of agricultural extension work, highlighting this as a key partnership opportunity with customers of U.S. soy. He was joined by Ghanaian and Kenyan business leaders who discussed leveraging their relationships with WISHH to grow their businesses. Additionally, WISHH helped its partners with B2B meetings through its trade relations advisor, strengthening the connections for potential buyers of U.S. soy.

The African Buyers and Sellers Conference continues a busy season of trade teams for WISHH as it is hosting dozens of team members from Asia, Latin America, and sub-Saharan Africa across seven U.S. states while sponsoring the attendance of business partners to conferences globally.

The including of WISHH partners on the trade team was support by USDA’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program.
