The American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program welcomed feed industry leaders from Africa and Asia to the International Grains Program Institute at Kansas State University this week for a course focused on feed manufacturing best practices and the value of high-quality ingredients like U.S. soy.

Participants from Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Kazakhstan and Cambodia are taking part in the training, which is designed to strengthen technical knowledge while building direct connections with the U.S. soy industry. The trade team was supported through funding from the Kansas Soybean Commission and USDA’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program.

A highlight of the trade team was a visit by Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Luke Lindberg, Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall, and Representative Tracey Mann.

During discussions with Lindberg, WISHH highlighted how its partnership with USDA and Kansas soybean farmers helps bring international feed manufacturers to the United States to experience firsthand the benefits of using quality ingredients such as U.S. soy in feed production.
