State Letters Needed in Response to President’s Comments on Tariffs

This week, ASA is asking state affiliates to urge their Members of Congress to contact the Administration and remind them that removal of China’s retaliatory tariffs is critical to soybean producers and the agricultural economy. These letters come after President Trump announced that he may keep tariffs in place under a China trade agreement. ASA has always considered the lifting of the Section 301 tariffs by the U.S. in exchange for China removing its retaliatory 25 percent tariff on U.S. soybean imports as essential to any initial agreement between the two countries. States with questions regarding these letters can contact the ASA Washington office.
