WISHH Takes U.S. Soybean Farmers to Ghana
September 15, 2011 - Reprinted from ASA Leader Letter....Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) Board members Mike Marron and Pat Dumoulin, and United Soybean Board (USB) Vice Chair Vanessa Kummer and Past Chair Phil Bradshaw were in Ghana this week speaking with U.S. government representatives, Ghanaian government officials, local businesses and development organizations to discuss the use of soy protein in Ghana and the supply/demand situation.

"Ghana presents tremendous opportunity for U.S. soy exports," said Dumoulin, a member of the WISHH Committee. "They are increasing their local production, but consumption growth continues to exceed local supply. The U.S. can sell some soybeans here."
The group also visited a vitagoat soy dairy project managed by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, which provided soy milk to 400 kindergardners last year.
